Gillian Richardson

Completed a Bachelor of Agricultural Science, specialising in Food and Agri-business Management, in University College Dublin in 2018. Currently undergoing a Diploma in Leadership for the Agri Food Sector in University College Cork due to graduate in summer 2021.

Working with Macra na Feirme since March 2020 as Agricultural and Rural Affairs Policy Officer. This role involves working predominately with Macra na Feirme’s Agricultural Affairs committee in a support role in the creation of events that are of interest to young farmers, for example the online half-hour specials with invite speakers to present on issues of relevance e.g. the Common Agricultural Policy, future environmental schemes and the potential for bioenergy on farms. Communicate with Young Farmer Development Groups on upcoming events and useful information. Work with both the Agricultural Affairs committee and with the Rural Youth committee to develop policy documents relevant to members.
